| Alicia Silverstone's Biography |
With her tender, titillating presence in films and music videos, Alicia Silverstone elicits tingles in adolescent boys and dirty old men alike. This fine (very fine) young actress has become one of the hottest young actresses in Hollywood.
She got her first major acting role in a Domino's Pizza commercial at the age of 14 and went on to star in her first major motion picture "The Crush". After doing some Aerosmith music videos and a couple of other films she starred in "Clueless" which projected her into the superstar we now know. Silverstone's performance as a good-hearted Beverly Hills teenager won critical and box-office kudos. She very quickly became Hollywood's next big thing and was signed to a $10 million deal with Columbia Pictures--big numbers for a nineteen-year-old.
She said in Star Magazine, "It sickens me how important things like the fashion world are to some people. It can be exciting but it's also very damaging. So many people are so shallow and robotic. I just hope people relies that it's not important how you look on the outside it's more important what's on the inside." A San Francisco native, Silverstone launched her career at the age of six in a series of swimsuit snapshots taken by her father, a real estate investor.
Those photos began a steady stream of modeling gigs--including a Domino's TV commercial--and casting agents soon noticed her nubile charisma. After a guest shot on ABC's The Wonder Years, Silverstone signed up for her cinematic debut as a man-obsessed young woman in 1993's The Crush. Before filming began, Silverstone legally became an emancipated minor in order to evade child labor laws that would have restricted her working hours. Hot and bothered itself, Hollywood is betting big that Alicia Silverstone will continue to capture America's fancy. Speaking of big, Silverstone was recently skewered in the press for packing on some post-Clueless pounds. But no worries, it seems she fits just fine into her Batgirl costume.
Alicia and her manager, Carolyn Kessler, have started their own production company "First Kiss Productions" and singed with Colombia pictures to produce and act in three films, the first being "Excess Baggage". She just finished filming "Blast From The Past" which should be released in theaters in early 1999. She will soon start work on "Stand By Your Man". Hot and bothered itself, Hollywood is betting big that Alicia Silverstone will continue to capture America's fancy.
